Sentinel Hub Webinar: Remote Sensing for Journalists

Join us for our next Sentinel Hub webinar on May 25th 2023 at 4pm CEST, where we will discuss the use of satellite data in journalism. The topic will be presented by our special guest Christoph Koettl, a Visual Investigations journalist with the New York Times video team, specializing in the analysis of satellite imagery, video and other visual evidence. He will talk about the latest developments in satellite technology and how it can be used for a range of journalistic applications.

Satellite data has become an indispensable tool for journalists in gathering information on a variety of topics, including environmental issues, disasters and conflicts. In this webinar, we’ll explore how remote sensing technology can be used to enhance reporting and provide valuable insights into stories that would otherwise be difficult to cover.

Christoph is an expert on armed conflicts, human rights and social media verification. He was part of a team that won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting for coverage of the civilian toll of U.S. air and drone strikes. His presentation will be followed by the Q&A session. To answer as many relevant questions on the topic as possible, Pierre Markuse, Grega Milčinski and Andras Zlinszky will also help and share their expertise.

We hope to see you at our live event on May 25th as we delve into the fascinating world of remote sensing and discover how it can be used to inform and engage audiences. This is an opportunity you don't want to miss, so register now and secure your place.
