Disease Outbreak Control

The aim of the contract with MAFF was to develop and implement a Disease Outbreak Web GIS application for the purposes of the project Strengthening of the Control System and the system of reporting about contagious animal diseases.

This web based GIS application provided an efficient IT support for governmental services to prevent spreading of contagious diseases from potential outbreak points to other farms, agricultural regions or into the environment. The application is equipped with tools for prediction of possible courses and the speed of spreading of disease considering different characteristics of diseases and some geographical factors, such are relief, water network, climatic conditions, etc. By using this application, the coordination of actions in an animal disease outbreak  control centre became very manageable and effective.
